Help paying for coverage in 2027.
Premium tax credits
Lower your monthly premium. For 2027 they're generally available when household income is between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level and you can't get affordable coverage through a job, Medicare, or Medicaid.
Cost-sharing reductions
Lower your deductible, copays, and out-of-pocket limit. You get them if your income is up to 250% of the federal poverty level and you pick a Silver plan.
Above 400% of poverty level
The larger credits from 2021 through 2025 have expired, so households above 400% generally get no premium tax credit for 2027. We still compare plans to find the lowest cost for you.
The Texas coverage gap
Texas hasn't expanded Medicaid. Most adults without children can't get Medicaid, and tax credits start at 100% of the poverty level, so some people fall in between. Call us and we'll look at every option.
Plan levels.
Metal levels describe how you and the plan split costs, not the quality of care.
Bronze
Lowest monthly premium, highest costs when you get care. Fits people who mostly want protection from a big bill.
Silver
Middle premium and costs. The only level with cost-sharing reductions, so it's often the best value at lower incomes.
Gold
Higher premium, lower deductible and copays. Fits people who see doctors often or take regular medications.
Catastrophic
Very low premium and a very high deductible. Generally for people under 30 or those with a hardship exemption.
